புனித அல்போன்சா செய்த செபம்:
"ஓ என் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசுவே உம் திருஇதயத்தின் காயத்தினுள் என்னை நீர் மறைப்பீராக. அன்பும் மதிப்பும் பெறுவதற்கான ஆசையினின்று என்னை நீர் விடுவித்தருளும். பேரும் பெருமையும் தேடுவதற்கான முயற்சியினின்று என்னை காப்பாற்றும். நான் சிறு அணுவளவேனும் உம் திரு இதயத்தினது அன்புத்தீயின் ஒரு பொறியும் ஆகும் வரையில் என்னை நீர் தாழ்த்துவீராக. எல்லாப் படைப்புக்களையும் என்னையுமே மறந்துவிடுவதற்கான அருளை எனக்கு தந்தருளும். சொல்ல முடியாத இன்பமாகிய இயேசுவே உலக ஆறுதல்கள் அனைத்தையும் எனக்கு கசப்பாக மாற்றியருளும். நீதியின் கதிரோனாகிய என் இயேசுவே உம் திருகதிர்களால் என் உள்ளத்துக்கு தெளிவையும் புத்திக்கு ஒளியையும் அளித்து என் இதயத்தை தூய்மைபடுத்துவீராக. உம்மீது கொண்ட அன்பினால் என்னை எரிய செய்து உம்முடன் என்னை சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளும். ஆமென்.

புனித அல்போன்சாவே! நம் மீட்பர் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் பாடுகளிலும், மரணத்திலும், உயிர்ப்பிலும் பங்குகொண்ட நீர், எங்கள் மத்தியில் இருந்து தேர்ந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டீர். புண்ணியத்தில் வளர்ந்த நீர் இறைவனால் புனித நிலைக்கும் மோட்ச பாக்கியத்திற்கும் அழைத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டீர் .
எங்களின் துன்பங்களிலும் துயரங்களிலும் இறைவனிடம் எமக்காய் பரிந்து பேசும். ஓ துன்பங்களால் தூய்மை அடைந்த தூயகமே! உம்மை போல் நாங்களும் இறைவனை முற்றிலும் சரணடைந்து தூய வாழ்வு வாழ வழிநடத்தும்.
கிறிஸ்துவின் பாடுகளுக்காகவும், எம் பாவங்களின் மன்னிப்பிற்காகவும், அனைத்து மக்களின் முன்னேற்றத்திற்காகவும், மீட்பிற்காகவும் எங்கள் துன்பங்களை பொறுமையோடு ஏற்று இறை மகிமைக்காக வாழும் வரம் தாரும். ஆமென்.

விசுவாசிகளின் மன்றாட்டு:
அன்பார்ந்தவர்களே இறைவன் தம் புனிதர்கள் வழியாக பல புதுமைகளை செய்து வருகின்றார். நம் மண்ணின் புனிதை புனித அல்போன்சாவின் பரிந்துரையை மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியோடும் நம்பிக்கையோடும் நாடுவோம்.

1. இறைவா நீர் புனித அல்போன்சாவை புனித நிலைக்கு உயர்த்தினீர். நாங்களும் தூய வாழ்வு வாழவும், இறைவேண்டுதளிலும், பக்தி முயற்சிகளிலும் மென்மேலும் வளர தூய்மையின் ஆவியை புதுப்பிக்கும் ஆவியை எம்முள்ளே படைத்தருள வேண்டுமென்று தூய அல்போன்சா வழியாக இறைவா உம்மை வேண்டுகிறோம்.
   
2. புனித அல்போன்சா நோயின் மிகுதியிலும் கொடிய வாதைகளிலும் இறைநம்பிக்கையில் உறுதியாய் நிலைத்திருந்தது போல, நாங்களும் துன்ப துயரங்களில் இறைவனின் திருவுளத்தை ஏற்று வாழ வரமருள வேண்டுமென்று தூய அல்போன்சா வழியாக இறைவா உம்மை வேண்டுகிறோம்.
3. அன்பு இயேசுவே நீர் எம் பாவங்களுக்காக உம்மையே அன்று கல்வாரியில் பலியாக்கினீர். புனித அல்போன்சா உம்மைப்போல் பிறருக்காக தம்மையே தகன பலியாக்கினார். நாங்களும் எங்கள் வாழ்வின் ஒவ்வொரு நொடியையும் பிறருக்காக வழங்கும் மனம் தந்தருள வேண்டுமென்று தூய அல்போன்சா வழியாக இறைவா உம்மை வேண்டுகிறோம்.
4. எம்மை காக்க வந்த இயேசுவே நீர் உம் பாடுகளின் பயணத்தில் " தந்தையே என் விருப்பப்படியல்ல ஆனால் உம விருப்பப்படியே ஆகட்டும்" என்று கூறியது போல புனித அல்போன்சாவும் இறைதிருமுறைபடி வாழ்ந்தார். நாங்களும் அனைத்து செயல்களிலும் திருமறையின் படிப்பினைகளின்படி வாழவும், இறைவனின் அதிமிகு மகிமைக்காக உழைக்கவும் வரமருள வேண்டுமென்று தூய அல்போன்சா வழியாக இறைவா உம்மை வேண்டுகிறோம்.
5. அன்பின் இறைவா புனித அல்போன்சா அனைத்து மாணாக்கர்மீதும்அன்பும்பரிவும் கொண்டிருந்தார். அனைத்து மாணவ மாணவியரையும்ஆசீர்வதித்துநல்வழி நடத்த வேண்டுமென்று தூய அல்போன்சா வழியாகஇறைவா உம்மைவேண்டுகிறோம்.

O Beloved Jesus, who for the love of me didst agonize on the Cross, and from that Throne of Truth didst announce the completion of the work of our Redemption, through which, from being the children of wrath and perdition, we are to become the children of God and the heirs of Heaven: have mercy on all the faithful in their agony, and on me also when I shall be in that extremity, and, through the merits of Thy most Precious Blood, detach us entirely from the world and from ourselves, and at the moment of our agony give us grace sincerely to offer Thee the sacrifice of our life in expiation of our sins.

A Prayer to our Blessed Lady of Sorrows
O Holy Mother, most afflicted by the bitter sorrow which thou didst endure at the foot of the Cross during the Three Hours' Agony of Jesus: vouchsafe to assist all of us, the children of thy sorrows, in our last agony, that through thine intercession we may pass from the bed of death to form a crown for thee in the heavenly Paradise.

O Mary, Mother of grace, Mother of mercy, Protect us from the enemy, and receive us a the hours of death.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PASSION

The Fourteen Promises of Our Lord
1. I'll grant everything that's asked of Me with Faith, when making The Way of The Cross.
2. I promise Eternal Life to those who pray from time to time, The Way of The Cross.
3. I'll follow them everywhere in life and I'll help them, especially at the hour of death.
4. Even if they have more sins than blades of grass in the fields, and grains of sand in the sea, all of them will be erased by The Way of The Cross. (Note: This promise doesn't eliminate the obligation to confess all mortal sins, and this, before we can receive Holy Communion.)
5. Those who pray The Way of The Cross often, will have a special glory in heaven.
6. I'll deliver them from Purgatory, indeed if they go there at all, the first Tuesday or Friday after their death.
7. I'll bless them at each Way of The Cross, and My blessing will follow them everywhere on earth and, after their death, in Heaven for all Eternity.
8. At the hour of death I won't permit the devil to tempt them; I'll lift all power from him in order that they'll repose tranquilly in My Arms.
9. If they pray it with true love, I'll make of each one of them a living Ciborium in which it will please Me to pour My Grace.
10. I'll Fix My Eyes on those who pray The Way of The Cross often; My hands will always be open to protect them.
11. As I am nailed to the Cross, so also will I always be with those who honor Me in making The Way of The Cross frequently.
12. They'll never be able to separate themselves from Me, for I'll give them the grace never again to commit a Mortal sin.
13. At the hour of death I'll console them with My Presence and we'll go together to Heaven. death will be sweet to all those who have honored Me during their lives by praying The Way of The Cross.
14. My Soul will be a protective shield for them, and will always help them, whenever they have recourse. "Jesus, Mary, I Love You, Save Souls."

Blessing of Candles on the feast of Saint Blase, Bishop & Martyr


FEAST DAY: February 3




V. Our help is in the name of the Lord.
R. Who made heaven and earth.

Let us pray.

O God of gentleness and might, by You Word alone You did create the manifold things of the world, and did cause this same Word, Maker of all things, to take flesh in order to repurchase us. You are great and wonderful, awesome and praiseworthy, a doer of wonderful deeds. Wherefore, in professing his fealty to You, the glorious martyr and bishop, Blasé did not fear any manner of torment, but gladly accepted the palm of martyrdom. In virtue of which, among other gifts, You did bestow on him this prerogative -of healing all ailments of the throat. Thus we beg Your Majesty that overlooking our guilt, and considering only his merits and intercession You world grant to bless + and sanctify + and bestow Your grace on these candles. Let all Christians of good faith whose necks are touched with them be healed of every malady of the throat, and being restored in health and cheer, let them return thanks in Your holy Church, and give praise to Your wondrous name which is blessed forever. Through our Lord, Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, eternally.

The candles are sprinkled with holy water. Then the pries, holding two crossed candles to the throat of each one to be blessed, as they kneel before the altar, says:

Through the intercession of Saint Blase, Bishop and Martyr, may God deliver you from sickness of the throat and from every other evil. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

ADVENT CANDLES

TO MAKE YOUR ADVENT LIVELY
TRADITION
The origins of the Advent wreath are found in the folk practices of the pre-Christian Germanic peoples who, during the cold December darkness of Eastern Europe, gathered wreaths of evergreen and lighted fires as signs of hope in a coming spring and renewed light.
Christians kept these popular traditions alive, and by the 16th century Catholics and Protestants throughout Germany used these symbols to celebrate their Advent hope in Christ, the everlasting Light. From Germany the use of the Advent wreath spread to other parts of the Christian world.
Traditionally, the wreath is made of four candles in a circle of evergreens. Three candles are violet and the fourth is rose, but four white candles or four violet candles can also be used. Each day at home, the candles are lighted, perhaps before the evening meal-- one candle the first week, and then another each succeeding week until December 25th. A short prayer may accompany the lighting.

A Rite for the Beginning of Advent at Home
The first day the wreath is in the home, the leader may say:
As our nights grow longer and our days grow short,
we look on these earthly signs--light and green branches--
and remember God's promise to our world:
Christ, our Light and our Hope, will come.
Listen to the words of Isaiah the prophet:
The people that walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those who lived in a land as dark as death
a light has dawned.
You have increased their joy
and given them gladness;
They rejoice in your presence
as those who rejoice at harvest,
as warriors exult when dividing spoil. Is. 9:1-2
Then all pray:

As the light from this candle,
may the bless of Christ come upon us,

Then the first candle is lighted.
Each day at home, the candles are lighted, perhaps before the evening meal -- one candle the first week, and then another each succeeding week until December 25th. The rose candle is usually lighted on the third Sunday of Advent. As the candles are lighted, a prayer may be said.

First Week of Advent

O Jesus, your voice sounds through the house of my world: Be on your guard! Stay awake!
Yet I hardly hear you. Busy with so much, I go about the things I do like a servant trapped in household routine, hardly giving a thought to what my life is about. My spirit within has grown tired and you, my God, seem far away. How can I hear your voice today?
Speak to my heart during this season of grace, as you spoke to your prophets and saints. Remind me again of the journey you call me to make and the work you would have me do. I am your servant, O Lord. Speak to me in this holy season and turn my eyes to watch for your coming.

When John the Baptizer made his appearance as a preacher in the desert of Judea, this was his them: Reform your lives. The reign of God is at hand!" Mt. 3:1

Second Sunday of Advent
O Jesus, in an empty desert your prophet John proclaimed: God is here, at your side. God has come to bring about a kingdom where injustice and suffering will be no more, where tears will be wiped away, and where those who turn to God will feast at a banquet.
"Turn now, your God is standing at your side. Reform your lives, God's kingdom is at hand." In an empty desert John said these things.
Give me faith like John's, O Lord, strong enough to believe even in a desert that you and your kingdom are no farther from me than my hand. Make my heart strong like his, not swayed by trials or snared by false pleasures. Give me courage to be faithful until your promises are fulfilled.
O King of all nations, Jesus Christ,
only joy of every heart,
come and save your people.

Third Week of Advent
John's disciples said to Jesus, "Are you 'He who is to come' or do we look for another?" In reply, Jesus said: "Tell John what you hear and see: the blind recover their sight, cripples walk, lepers are cured, and the poor have good news preached to them..." Lk. 3:10 Third Week of Advent
O Jesus, I rejoice at the signs that say you are near. Your power is everywhere if I could see it.
Yet my eyes often see only darkness and what has yet to be done. I believe in you, yet when I look around evil seems so strong and goodness so weak. If you have come, why is there still so much suffering and why do the poor still despair? Where are your miracles today?
Your grace, O Lord, is more fruitful in my world than I imagine. I know your power is everywhere around me, if I could only see it. Show me today where the blind see and cripples walk.
Make my vision sharper than it is.

Fourth Week of Advent
The angel Gabriel said to Mary, "Do not fear, Mary, you shall conceive and bear a son and give him the name Jesus. Great will be his dignity and he will be called Son of the Most High..." Lk. 1 Fourth Sunday of Advent
O Jesus, I believe you were born of Mary and are God's Son.
Your mysterious coming is beyond understanding. Yet like your holy mother, Mary, I wish that you come to me, for you promised you will. Let me serve you in any way I can and know that you are with me day by day as my life goes by.
Like Mary, your mother, though I know you only by faith, may my whole being proclaim your greatness and my spirit rejoice in your favor to me.
O Wisdom, holy Word of God, Jesus Christ,
holding all things in your strong yet tender hands,
come and show us the way to salvation.
